Faith, Trust, & Pixie Dust.

“All you need is faith, trust and a little pixie dust!” – Peter Pan

Peter Pan, one of the most magical stories ever told. I love the story behind the play, and how J.M. Barrie the original playwright, had a beautiful and tragic journey of writing this story we all know and love. It’s truly inspiring and you can’t help but fall deep in love with the magic, fairies and pixie dust Barrie describes in this beautfiul play.

My name is Anne, and The Green House Company is everything I love to do. (Read this post Spring is Time for New Beginnings for more info about the company.) This idea came to me around this time last year. It all started at a Christian missions conference called “Family Church Conference of Faith Christian Fellowship” or “F.C.F.” for short. FCF is something my family has been a part of for a long time, and through them we found connections to FCF Pastors all over the world and began to go to their countries and minister in their churches. This has been a part of my life since I was 8 years old, and continues to be a signifgant part of my life. During this time at the conference my family and I host as many foreign missionaries as possible in our household, It’s a lot of fun. So this is not the first time all these different missionaries were in my home but something about that year was different. As if my eyes had been closed and then all the sudden they were opened, I began to see them in a different way and I began to have an abundance of compassion for them and the stories they told of their homes and churches. I felt a yearning in my heart to go; and the ideas started to develop in my heart.

This was a big deal for me, I wanted to be in the “Music Industry” I have a passion for music and I didn’t quite understand what the Lord was telling me. Was I supposed to just drop everything and be a missionary? I didn’t find my answer until this year. This year I have gone through quite a few different things and done some real “soul-searching” as one might call it. I didn’t go to school, I just worked and learned a whole lot on being a human and how to become a maturing woman of God. I am still learning everyday and will continue to learn, but boy have I come a long way! So what I figured out for myself is that:

A.) I’m not Perfect, and I never will be.

B.) It’s OK to make mistakes.

C.) Take your time to pray or think about noteworthy decisions before you give an answer.

D.) Make decisions for yourself.

E.) My actions and words affect other people more than I know.

F.) I don’t have to do it on  my own. “Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28

G.) Having to start over, may be the greatest thing that ever happened to me.

So with these things I’ve learned, I was inspired to “Why not use all my gifts, talents and interests and just do what I’ve dreamt about doing?” So I created The Green House Company: A company where I can just be as creative as I want and inspire other people to get creative as well. Because I couldn’t find a company that was made for me, I made my own. I will continue to go on mission trips whenever and where ever I feel lead and I will tell people’s stories here on the blog and in a printed magazine that I will strive to make in the company’s future. I will continue to practice music, simply because I love it. If something happens with it, awesome! If not that’s alright too.

Creativity: [kree-ey-tiv-i-tee, kree-uh-] “Creativity is a phenomenon whereby something new and somehow valuable is formed. The created item may be intangible or a physical object.” -Wikipedia

Creativity amazes me, we are the only creative beings on the earth. God is the most creative being alive and he created us. He thought of the mountains and the stars but even more incredible, he thought of you. Nothing is impossible like my quote from Audrey Hepburn, “Nothing is impossible, the word itself says, ‘I’m Possible!”

“All things are possible with God.” Mark 10:27

So what am I waiting for?

& What are you waiting for? Follow your dreams.

Cities: Tulsa, OK

Tulsa isn’t the biggest city, but it’s not the smallest either. Though with a population of only 605,403 people it still has it’s bustling moments. I was born and raised here and have pretty much wanted to move away half my life…Tulsa isn’t the most happening town and I often struggled to find new things to do. It isn’t until recently that I have gained some appreciation for this town, I couldn’t tell you what changed but maybe it was just me that did the transforming. Tulsa areas can usually be pretty nice, but every garden has it’s weeds. Here there’s usually a total of two weeks of nice weather and then the weather of course is horrid, it’s either too hot or too cold or there’s a deadly tornado nearby. But I believe Tulsans have a secret bond because of the weather, we just know what could come so most of us don’t take life for granted.

Tulsa is quite more artsy than most people might think when they hear “Oklahoma” but music, art, and crafting are a big deal here.

Brady Arts District -Downtown Tulsa, OK

My all time favorite place of Tulsa is the Brady Arts District in Downtown. There are plenty of art murals on every corner,as well as art museums and art centers to please your creative fix.You can find amazing coffee shops, bakeries, gift shops, and even candy stores. Which leads me to my next favorite…Pinkitzel!

Pinkitzel – Brady Arts District, Downtown Tulsa, OK

This is a newer establishment near the Tulsa BOK center, and it has an abundance of cute things, delicious candy and
all the pink things you can imagine. Today I was wandering around downtown and I just couldn’t drive past without going in and grabbing a few chocolate macaroons and some amazing sparkling pink lemonade that I am enjoying while writing this post!

This year I am making it my goal to explore more of my city and surrounding areas, so be looking for more updates on fun places I discover in the Tulsa area.

Spring is Time for New Beginnings.

“Nothing is impossible, the word itself says ‘I’m possible’!” – Audrey Hepburn
Easier said than believed Ms. Hepburn…
Have you ever felt a little lost? Like a fish swimming laps in a fish bowl? Not really heading in any direction, and you just want someone to pick you up and set you in the right position to succeed?
As I write this post, while listening to a song called “Changes,” I feel like I am experiencing the most amount of change in my life I have ever seen and I’m feeling a little lost. In April of 2016 my sweet Grandpa Don went to Heaven to be with His wife, dear Virginia Lee. Following the trip for His memorial I returned home to find out that I was no longer needed at my job. I had been in preparation to leave this job during the summer of this year, but I was defiantly not ready yet. So with my finances stripped from my recent trip for my Grandpa’s memorial and after sending payments for a mission trip I will be experiencing in July of this summer; I am officially broke! And feeling a little lost as to what I am supposed to do with my time and my life, I scour the Internet for another job and I am at a loss.
Let me give you a little back story: I am 19, I graduated High School in 2015 and made the decision not to go to college, or at least not yet. You see, just like most people I have a dream (a lot of dreams actually), and school really isn’t in the cards quite yet. Myself at 19, is in the process of starting my own company, a brand, a life, if you will. It’s called “The Green House Company,” in this company I want to sell my hand-crafted or refurbished home décor; anything recycled, or re-loved to the public and $3.00 or 30% of every purchase made will go towards missions trips or to a non-profit organization. My ultimate dream for this company is to be an impactful force, I want to sell “green” merchandise and I want to influence the world. I would love to eventually have a magazine booklet sold for the company which features both merchandise, local photography stories, individuals stories from around the world and more. Every portion of this is floating around in my heart and head everyday; and I know what you’re thinking (because I think it too) “Haha, well that’s impossible kid!” Starting your own renown company at 19 with no college degree or hardly any experience in owning and handling your own business/organization, crazy right?
So I guess why I’m writing this, and will be continuing to share my journey of this and my life is because I want to make the impossible…possible. What do you think?
Sincerely,
– The Future CEO of The Green House Company
